Now before I even begin, let me just apologize because I am about to inundate you with all of the red carpet pictures! There were just so many amazing dresses last night and I had to include all of them!
The Golden Globes were absolutely amazing. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler killed their opening monologue. I especially liked their dig at George Clooney who won the Cecil B. DeMille achievement award. There were also some pretty incredible acceptance speeches. One of my favorites was given by Jane the Virgin actress Gina Rodriguez who won for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Show — “My father used to tell me to say every morning, ‘Today’s going to be a great day. I can and I will.’ Well dad, today’s a great day. I can, and I did.”
I mean, it doesn’t get more perfect than that. She was so humble and empowering and her speech made me fall even more in love with her — I also shed a few tears. Didn’t she look drop dead gorgeous last night too?!
I was also a huge fan of Sienna Miller, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore and Jenna Dewan-Tatum. Of course, there are so many others who looked amazing and you can check them all out below! (I just have to note that I thought Amal Alamuddin looked beautiful, but I expected more from her. That is why she isn’t included in my best dressed.)
Gina Rodriguez in Badgley Mischka. I loved Gina in this dress! It was so simple and classic at the top, but got more fun at the bottom with the fringe. I think the color looked amazing against her tan skin and her hair was so lovely! I just love her.
Emma Stone in Lanvin. Yes! A jumpsuit! I love that Emma opted for pants and not a gown as everyone else did! She still looked perfect for the occasion, but I bet she was much more comfortable. I would’ve made the bow on the back smaller, but other than that — A+.
Viola Davis in Donna Karan Atelier. Her skin looked so smooth and milky against this red gown. And Viola has a great body for her age. If I saw the dress in a showroom, it probably wouldn’t be my first pick, but it looked gorgeous on her. Or, rather, she made it look gorgeous.
Taylor Schilling in Salvatore Ferragamo. I wish Orange is the New Black would’ve got some love last night, but at least Taylor looked stunning. I liked the criss-cross halter neckline and the red color. I also liked how she slicked her hair back so that you could really appreciate the dress’s neckline.
Sienna Miller in Miu Miu. This was one of my absolute favorites from last night! Everything about the look is spot on — the bob haircut, the deep V, the jewelry. Sienna looked stunning!
Salma Hayek in Alexander McQueen. Salma Hayek looked like she has the tiniest waist in this belted gown! I really liked the color on her and the intricate design on the fabric.
Reese Witherspoon in Calvin Klein. This dress is simple, yet it made a statement. And the color looked great on Reese.
Naomi Watts in Gucci. There was actually quite a bit of yellow last night, and Naomi gave me hope that even I could pull off the color. The bright hue looked beautiful against her fair skin and I loved the snake necklace too!
Michelle Monaghan in Jason Wu. Michelle was a bombshell last night! I loved her simple strappy gown and her hair!
Lupita Nyong’o in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture. I always love Lupita and how she doesn’t shy away from color! There was a lot going on with this gown, but I loved it! I liked the textured top and how the purple faded into white. She can do no wrong!
Louise Roe in Jenny Packham. Drop dead gorgeous! Louise is a fashionista and of course she pulled out all the stops last night. I loved the hair, the neckline of the gown, the belt. I loved everything.
Lorde in Narcisco Rodriguez. Just like Emma Stone, Lorde opted for pants last night and she pulled it off seamlessly. I liked her slicked back hair and that she stayed true to herself in the all-black ensemble. She looked great!
Leslie Mann in Kaufmanfranco. Leslie also sported yellow last night and looked so darn good in the color. She has a sick body and I loved her hair too!
Keira Knightley in Chanel. I’m sure this dress ended up on many worst dressed lists, but I loved that Keira took a risk. I could definitely do without all the frills at the top and bottom, but I did love the print and her butterfly clutch. For me, the good outweighed the bad!
Kate Hudson in Versace. Va-va-voom! You’ve got to have some killer confidence (and some super sticky boob tape) to pull off this dress! I did wish Kate’s hair was a little more relaxed and not so severe, but she totally rocked it! I mean, look at that body!
Julianne Moore in Givenchy Couture. I loved the bottom of this dress way more than the top, but all together the look was a winner! I think the color went well with her skin and red hair.
Joanne Froggatt in Marchesa. I loved the navy color as well as the intricate beading on the gown. I also liked Joanne’s braided crown!
Jessica Chastain in Atelier Versace. I would never think that this color would look good on someone with such fair skin, but Jessica made it look so beautiful and sexy! When I saw her on the red carpet, my first thought was, “How did she get her boobs to look so perky?” Did you see those things — hands down best cleavage of the night! (Yes, even better than J.Lo.)
Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Carolina Herrera. Yet another yellow gown, but this time it’s in more of a pastel hue. I loved the structure of this gown and the color looked stunning against Jenna’s tan skin. She also rocked the lob (long bob)! She was killer arm candy for Channing Tatum, that’s for sure.
Heidi Klum in Versace. Old Hollywood glamour at its finest! The dress fit like a glove and Heidi looked absolutely amazing in red.
Greer Grammer in Lorena Sarbu. Miss Golden Globe looked beautiful in this neutral gown. I loved her loose bun with the dress. The gown also had the perfect amount of metallic detailing.
Emily Blunt in Michael Kors. I’m a big fan of cut outs so this gown had to be on my best dressed list! Again, it was a fairly simple gown, but with the addition of jewels and makeup, it was a true winner.
Chrissy Teigen in Zuhair Murad. I couldn’t tell if this was a nude color or light pink, but regardless it looked beautiful on Chrissy. The gown is so intricate so I’m glad she kept her hair up in the loose ponytail.
Camila Alves in Monique Lhuillier. Matthew McConaughey’s other half was beautiful last night! Her lighter locks looked great and the gown was the perfect blend of structure and simplicity!
Behati Prinsloo in Kaufmanfranco with Adam Levine. I always love Behati and she, alongside Adam, were one of the hottest couples last night!
Anna Kendrick in Monique Lhuillier. I loved how different Anna looked last night! She was so glamorous. She really stuck with her look and rarely smiled in photos — that takes true commitment.
Anna Faris in Reem Acra. Another pastel gown and another best dressed actress! Anna and Chris Pratt were another uber hot couple last night! Her loose hair went perfectly with the gown too.
Allison Williams in Armani Privé. Allison also channeled some old Hollywood glamour last night! The layered design of the dress and the beading are amazing! Absolutely gorgeous gown.
