SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS BEST DRESSED

The SAG Awards made me so happy last night because not only did Uzo Aduba win for Outstanding Performance by a Female in a Comedy Series, but Orange is the New Black won for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series!! Ahhhhh, I was so happy I could barely contain myself. Actually, I really didn’t contain myself! I had a mini freak out when I heard they won!!

The movie categories went as I expected with the majority of the winners being the same as they were at the Golden Globes. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, it just makes it less exciting in my opinion. I really want to try and see as many of the Oscar nominated movies as I can. So far, I haven’t seen any, but once I finish this post I’m going to watch Boyhood. In the next few weeks, virtually every other nominated movie will be released at Redbox so I’ll have a lot of watching to do!!

As for the red carpet, I was highly impressed. I was watching the E! red carpet and I was really missing Giuliana Rancic. Maria Menounos was fine, but it really bothered me that she kept asking, “What are you wearing?” The proper answer to that question would be a dress, or a suit. If she wanted to know the designer, she needed to ask, “Who are you wearing?” There were a few other awkward moments and I felt she took the compliments slightly too far, but other than that I enjoyed the coverage.

I loved that so many women opted for color. Sofia Vergara stunned in red. Sophia Bush wore an orange Vivienne Westwood gown. Uzo Aduba wore yellow. Julianne Moore looked gorgeous in green Givenchy. Julianna Marguilies donned blue. And Keira Knightley was a beautiful mommy-to-be in purple. It was the perfect array of rainbow hues!

Did you see how colorful the stage was when the cast of Orange is the New Black accepted their award for Outstanding Ensemble?!!

Here is my list of last night’s best dressed:

sag tatiana
Tatiana Maslany in Oscar de la Renta. I have never watched Orphan Black, but Tatiana looked lovely in this striped gown. I liked that the stripes went in the opposite direction at the waistband because it kept the dress from becoming one big mind f*#! (for lack of a technical term).
sag sophia
Sophia Bush in Vivienne Westwood. This was one of my favorite dresses of the night! I loved the burnt orange color and the silhouette. You could tell it was Vivienne Westwood without having to ask. And Sophia’s hair was gorgeous and fit with the style of the gown perfectly.
sag sarah
Sarah Paulson in Armani Privé. Although Sarah shied away from color, I still love this gown. It was very simple and chic but accentuated the thinnest part of her waist, so it was quite flattering. I really liked her hair too!
sag rosamund
Rosamund Pike in Dior Haute Couture. This dress was on some worst dressed lists, but I love that Rosamund isn’t afraid to take risks. I liked the rosettes on the gown and the overall style. Since she is pretty tall and slim, the volume of the dress was still fairly flattering. There are very few people who could pull this dress off, but I thought Rosamund definitely did!
sag reese
Reese Witherspoon in Giorgio Armani. Reese stuck with neutrals again after donning a silver gown at the Golden Globes. Again, this dress was simple, but hugged her body in all the right places. The single shoulder details gave it enough of an oomph to make it on my best dressed list!
sag maggie
Maggie Gyllenhaal in Thakoon. I love this dress and Maggie looked statuesque in it! I liked the slit down the middle and the sheer material at the cleavage. The gown showed just the right amount of skin.
sag lupita
Lupita Nyong’o in Elie Saab. As always, Lupita is one of my best dressed. This gown had quite a bit going on with the stripes and the floral print, but I loved it! The colors of the gown looked great against her skin and her hair and makeup were superb. And did anyone else see Jared Leto totally checking her out as they presented the award to Mark Ruffalo? They’d be such a hot couple!!
sag kelly
Kelly Macdonald in Vintage Moschino. I loved that Kelly chose a shorter gown. Some may feel it’s not appropriate for the SAG Awards, but I think it worked! She still looked formal, but I’m sure she had less trouble walking since there was no train.

Keira Knightley in Erdem. This was another one of my favorites! The color is absolutely stunning and I love the mesh around the cleavage and the lacy material! Her hair and makeup complimented the gown beautifully.
sag kaley
Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting in Romona Keveza. This gown made Kaley look smokin’! I liked the sleek silhouette and the tiny belt around the waist. And I still cannot get over her hair! It looks amazing!
sag julie
Julie Bowen in Georges Hobeika. Julie went all out girly girl last night and I loved it. The beading and floral detailing were stunning. I also liked the pastel colors.

Julianne Moore in Givenchy Haute Couture. Julianne has been looking absolutely amazing on all red carpets thus far and I can’t wait to see her at the Oscars! This gown was a great color for her because it goes great with her fiery red hair. I loved the beading and how it slowly faded away at the bottom. She was gorgeous!
sag felicity
Felicity Jones in Balenciaga. Loved the color, the silhouette, the criss cross straps! I wasn’t a fan of her gown at the Golden Globes, but Felicity redeemed herself last night! She was definitely one of the best dressed of the night.

Emma Stone in Dior Haute Couture. Oh Emma, how I wish I could be you just for a day! Just as she did at the Golden Globes, she went with an unconventional ensemble. It wasn’t your typical gown, with the tuxedo jacket, shorter hemline and long sheer train! But she rocked it and I just love her so so much!!
APTOPIX 21st Annual SAG Awards - Arrivals
Sofia Vergara in Donna Karan. Sofia killed it as usual. She knows what body parts to accentuate (cough cough boobs). And she had some pretty hot arm candy last night too!
sag claire
Claire Danes in Marc Jacobs. The emerald color of this gown was just stunning! I liked the twisted detail at the neck and the small bit of skin that peeks through at her waist. This gown was much better than her Golden Globes look.

Camila Alves in Donna Karan. The material looked almost velvet-like and it photographed beautifully. Camila is so naturally stunning, but this gown just accentuated her beauty and her curves. I loved the deep purple hue as well.
