So my spring break was spent at my dining room table coding fashion blogs for my research methods class. I’m looking at three popular fashion blogs (We Wore What, Style Bubble and Face Hunter) and trying to see how they became successful. It seemed like such a simple concept in the beginning, but it turned out to be much more difficult. However, this research project is nearing an end and I couldn’t be more excited! As much as I love fashion and fashion blogs, I spent hours every day over my 10-day break so that I’d have all of my 173 blog posts coded by the time I came back (coded meaning I conducted a content analysis and had a codebook where I had to answer 42 questions pertaining to each blog post and its accompanying comments). I would’ve rather been relaxing and traveling, but hey I got it all done now!!
Lucky for me the weather is getting nicer which makes me happier too! Yesterday it was in the 60s and surprisingly warm. I was starting to sweat on my trek from the parking garage to my class! But I am so happy to start wearing my brighter and more florally (yes I know it’s not a word) clothing. This blazer came from a boutique in York, Pa., called Elizabeth & West Fashion House. Named after owner, mom and blogger Rebecca’s alma mater — Elizabethtown College — and the West Loop neighborhood she grew up in, the boutique offers a great selection of clothing for all women. I particularly loved all of the bright colors and designs Rebecca had in stock. And everything I got was on sale so I really couldn’t complain!
This blazer is super comfortable and so lightweight making it a perfect transition piece. Now if only the weather could stay like this…there’s a chance of snow on Friday 😦
P.S. Check out Rebecca’s blog here!
