Friday night my boyfriend and I went to see the Nationals play the Phillies. I actually used to watch nearly every Phillies game when I was in high school and I probably could’ve named all of the players. I was a true Phanatic. (I still have pictures from my Phillies calendar hanging on my wall at home.) Then I got to college, had less free time, and slowly but surely my baseball infatuation fell to the way side.
I was quite surprised when they went through the Phillies lineup because I only recognized three of the players. As far as I knew Shane Victorino and Jimmy Rollins were still on the team. Clearly I was mistaken. Sadly, my beloved Phillies lost 7-2, but I have to give it up to the Nats because they were really on point. Bryce Harper hit a home run in the first inning. I mean come on!! Oh, and I just have to point out that Bryce is the same age as me and he’s making nearly a million a year. To say I am jealous is an understatement! Nevertheless, we had a great time at the game. I enjoyed some delicious veggie burger sliders with goat cheese, avocado and chipotle mayo at the nearby Gordon Biersch restaurant and had some Dippin’ Dots at the game.
I also got a few good pictures of my game-day outfit. As you can see, I’m not one to deck myself out in Phillies garb. Instead, I opted for this super comfy top from Free People and this amazing Ann Taylor skirt I scored at Salvation Army. And I wore my new fedora!!! I still felt a little funny in it, seeing as I literally never wear hats. But I’m trying to get more comfortable in them and I truly love this one. It’s also a nice accessory to throw on when you’re having a not-so-great hair day or when there’s a chance of rain, as there was Friday night. I figured the hat would prevent me from looking like a total frizzball if I got caught in the rain. Luckily, it rained for only about 10 minutes and since my boyfriend and I were seated up in the boondocks, we were covered.
I definitely think my new fedora will be making the trip to Hawaii with me after graduation. Tomorrow will be a month until I leave. Getting stoked!!!
